Bread pudding with creamy nutella sauce and roasted banana whipped cream

There is nothing better in this world than nutella. 

Nutella and bananas are a classic combination, throw in bread pudding and this is the dessert I am proudest of.   

 

Feeds 6-8 people

                                          

The day before

Preheat oven to 300 f

3 ripe bananas

1.) Roast in the oven for 3-4 hours until black and shriveled in size

2 loaves of stale French bread cut into cubes (if fresh cut into cubes and toast in 300f oven for 30 minutes to dry out)

1.5 liters of whole milk

2 cups of dark brown sugar

2 tbsp vanilla extract

˝ tsp salt

 

1.) Combine all wet ingredients in a bowl with a whisk

2.) Add the bread and toss to coat (mix every few hours so the bread soaks up all the liquid and flavor)

3.) Let sit covered in the fridge overnight

4.) This makes the finished bread pudding moist and juicy and not custardy like bad buffet bread pudding usually is

 

The day of the feast : Bread pudding base

6 whole eggs

1.5 liters heavy cream

2 cups light brown sugar

2 tbsp vanilla extract

˝ tsp salt

Pan spray

Soaked bread

 

1.) Preheat oven to 350 f

2.) Combine wet ingredients

3.) Use slotted spoon and transfer soaked bread into custard mix

4.) Mix bread into egg mixture so it’s coated and put into a half pan or casserole dish 3 inches deep that has been sprayed with pan spray

5.) Bake with lid or foil for 1 hr to 1 hr-15 mins or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean

6.) Let rest for 20 minutes before serving

7.) To serve spoon hot sauce and garnish with whipped cream (please don’t use any stupid mint leaves to garnish this)

8.) Kick anyone’s ass that doesn’t like it or nutella, they don’t deserve it anyways                                                             

 

 

In the meantime make the nutella sauce and banana whipped cream

 

Whipped cream

1 cup of heavy cream

˝ cup of powdered sugar          

1 pinch of salt

Roasted bananas (mashed up)

1.) Put whisk, bowl and cream into freezer while making sauce

2.) Add salt to cream and whisk until it feels like you just did the sleeper

3.) Add in sugar and whisk until it’s thick and stiff

4.) Fold in bananas

               

 

    Nutella sauce

1 cup of heavy cream

1 cup of nutella       

1 pinch of salt

1.) Heat cream in sauté pan until reduced  

2.) Whisk nutella and salt into cream       

3.) Reduce until it coats a spoon
